Compact Stair Lift

Those looking for a compact stair lift often have difficult or awkward stairs to navigate. Some suppliers can struggle with stair lifts for narrow stairs, but we have this covered. We use stairlift installation specialists who cater for most staircase scenarios and particularly difficult and narrow staircases.

Compact Stair Lift – Models We Use

Our compact stairlifts are much nimbler than other models. In particular we often use the Flow X or Flow 2 stairlifts from Thyssen Krupp (more recently Access BDD). These stairlifts are designed with awkward stairs in mind. They have patented technology which means they can travel, pivot and tilt simultaneously. The ASL (Advanced Swivel and Levelling) technology lets the stairlift navigate even the most awkward of stairs.

Here’s a picture of the Flow 2 A having been installed on a very narrow staircase.

The Most Compact Stair Lift On The Market

The Flow series from Access BDD is considered the most compact stairlift on the market, and for good reason. It can navigate stairs as narrow as 61cm in width and folds down to an amazing 38cm wide when not in use. Here’s an image of the folded Flow X stairlift:

Not only does it fold to an incredibly flat appearance when not in use, but it boasts the most adaptability when it comes to difficult and awkward stair-climbing.

Many stairlifts are limited due to their outward facing chair configuration. One of the benefits of the Flow stairlift is that it can face downstairs (or upwards) while climbing/descending the stairs.

This allows much greater leg room on a narrow staircase. It’s patented technology allows it to pivot and tilt, avoiding obstacles such as bannister rails and newel posts while moving.

It uses a single rail too, which can be configured according to your staircase setup and available space. Space saving adaptions such as the “drop nose” rail means you don’t have to park the stairlift at the base (or top) of the staircase. The rail stops at the bottom step in this configuration to allow more space for corridors or doorways.

With a remote control, the stairlift can even be parked on the rail, up the stairs to save on space. Call the stairlift from the top/bottom when you need it!

Summary

The Flow X stairlift is the most compact stairlift on the market and it can be installed on stairs where a fitting was previously impossible! New technology has made it possible for even the most awkward configurations and these stairlifts can even be fitted to spiral staircases!
